In the US, Amazon sells about half of all printed books (US House report, 2020). The rest goes through bookstores, and they order from wholesalers a single author cannot get into.

One star from a competitor, one flagged review, and Amazon decides whether your book, or your whole account, stays.

To be seen at all, you chase reviews and pay for ads, afraid that one wrong click burns your budget.
You did the hard part. Don't let one platform decide the rest.
Your book is published by an international publishing house and listed where bookstores order. Amazon included.
Invitation only. A person reads every request and replies by email.

Your book is listed in the wholesale catalogs bookstores order from in 18 countries, in store and online. Amazon stays included.

More shops that can sell your book, a royalty share most publishers do not pay. Sales reports every quarter, earnings straight to your wallet.

A publishing house stands behind your book, not a personal seller account. No single platform can take it all away.

2 million books sold. Your book carries our imprint and our ISBN, with no extra cost.

Bookstores order from catalogs. No reviews and no ad budget needed to be orderable.

Your copyright stays yours. When the contract ends, all rights come back to you.
Invite other authors. For as long as they publish with us, you get a share of their book royalties, on top of your own.

Every market has its own wholesalers, and chains, independent bookstores, libraries and online shops order from their catalogs. These are the markets your book is listed in.
Four steps from manuscript to bookstore.
Tell us about your book. Once you are invited, you buy a slot: one slot publishes one book.

“Being visible is not enough. Any directory can show a book; a bookstore needs one it can order, with a publisher, a wholesaler, printing and delivery behind it. That system is what we put behind your book.”
ShelfPublisher is the author platform of Orbita Media GmbH, an international publishing house with more than 1,000 published titles and 2 million books sold. You publish your paperback under the publisher's imprint, with an ISBN from the publisher's own block, and the book is listed in the wholesale catalogs that more than 50,000 bookstores order from, Amazon included.
You upload the finished book, we check it, register it and set it up with the distribution channels. You keep your rights and earn a share of the net revenue of every copy sold.
You pay one publishing slot per book: €35 for a single book, and down to €20 per book in the largest package (100 books at €20 each, €2,000 in total). Prices include VAT for consumers; business customers with a valid VAT number and customers outside the EU see the adjusted total at checkout.
You pay one price per book: no printing costs, no stock, no ISBN to buy. The current packages are on the pricing page.
You get 30% of the net revenue of every copy sold. Most publishers pay their authors 5% to 7% of the cover price for a paperback.
There are no further fees after the slot. Your sales and earnings are shown per title in quarterly statements.
Yes. The copyright stays with you. You grant Orbita Media a licence to print, distribute and list the book for as long as it is published with us, and all rights revert to you automatically when that ends.
While the book is published with us, it is distributed outside Amazon only through us, in print and in every further format from the day you order that format from us: not through another publisher, platform, distributor or wholesaler, whatever the ISBN. Copies of our edition that you bought you may resell, also to shops, at the fixed book price. Your own Amazon KDP edition, in print and on Kindle, may stay; KDP Expanded Distribution must be switched off. Translations into another language and audiobooks are not affected. You can end the publication of a single title with 3 months' notice. The details are in clause 10 of our terms.
Your edition is not tied to a retail account of yours: it is published by Orbita Media and listed through the wholesale catalogs, so there is no personal seller account whose closure would take the book offline.
Our review checks the rules of the distribution channels before publication, so your book meets them from the start.
The book is listed in the wholesale catalogs that more than 50,000 bookstores order from: about 27,000 in the United States, 9,500 in the United Kingdom, 6,800 in Germany, 4,200 in France, 3,100 in Spain and 1,400 in Canada, plus 12 more countries through print on demand: 18 countries in all. In Italy, bookstores such as laFeltrinelli and IBS.it can order it through our global wholesale distribution. Online stores that order from the same catalogs list it too, Amazon included.
Listed everywhere, orderable everywhere. Every bookstore and online shop that uses these catalogs can order your book the moment a reader asks for it, printed on demand. Whether a store also keeps a copy on its own shelf is up to the store.
Not to be orderable. Bookstores order from catalogs, not star ratings. Marketing still helps sales, and that part stays yours.
Every title appears under our name as publisher, so we choose who we work with. You request access with a short form; a person on our team reads every request and answers by email. If your book fits, you receive a personal invitation link to set up your account.
A request does not commit you to buy anything. It comes with our offer emails, which you can stop at any time.
